Sharmin Aktar is an Executive Engineer at Electricity Generation Bangladesh PLC (EGB PLC) with more than 14 years of experience in power sector planning, development, and project management. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Her expertise includes power plant project planning and execution, tariff preparation, SAP-ERP Project System (PS) Module implementation, and renewable energy development. She has contributed to the development of major power generation projects and gained operational experience through her 2.5 years of service at one of Bangladesh’s largest combined cycle power plants. Currently, she serves in the Planning & Development Division of EGB PLC, where she contributes to strategic initiatives supporting the country's power sector growth. Beyond her professional responsibilities, she actively supports the WePOWER professional network and participates in various capacity-building and knowledge-sharing initiatives aimed at advancing the power sector and fostering greater inclusion of women professionals. Ms. Aktar is also an Executive Committee Member of the WePOWER Bangladesh National Chapter.
