The SARIC Training and Networking Services (TNS) team was part of the recently concluded “Power Summit 2023” in Nepal, themed “Broadening Green Energy Markets”. The Summit was a resounding success, drawing more than 2,000 attendees from South Asia and other countries. The participants included delegates from government agencies, think tanks, multilateral organizations, international development agencies, consultancies, public and private companies, and many others. The event was an excellent platform for knowledge exchange and networking, bringing together stakeholders from different sectors to discuss various topics such as Cross Border Electricity Trade, Climate Resilient Hydropower, Regional Interest and Energy Security, and Sustainable and Inclusive infrastructure.

In addition to attending the Power Summit, the SARIC team organized a meet-up for the Nepal alumni at the Australian Embassy in Kathmandu. The meet and greet was hosted by Paul McEacher, Deputy Head of Mission, Kavitha Kasynathan, Head of Development, and Sagar Prasai, Water Governance Advisor. During the meet-up, the alumni shared their experiences from SARIC training in Australia and future opportunities to collaborate and network through the program. The alumni expressed their appreciation for the experiential learning and networking in Australia which should contribute effectively to the long-term engagement between Australia and the South Asia region. The Nepal alumni’s rich experiences and insights are a testament to the effectiveness of SARIC training in building strong networks and empowering participants with the knowledge to drive sustainable development in their respective fields.
