Professional Bio
Strategic Disaster Risk Management and Emergency Management professional with over 12 years of progressive experience strengthening national resilience, leading emergency operations and advancing disaster risk reduction in the Maldives. Currently serving as Director of Emergency Management at the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), providing leadership for national preparedness, multi-agency emergency coordination, humanitarian response, disaster data management, policy development and institutional capacity building.
Career spans emergency operations, disaster damage and loss assessment, resilience programming, humanitarian coordination, climate adaptation, and stakeholder engagement. I have worked closely with government agencies, emergency services, UN organizations, international development partners, academia, and local communities to strengthen national systems and improve evidence-based decision-making.
As a passionate trainer and facilitator, I have designed and delivered professional training programmes, simulation exercises and university lectures for different educational institutes, Government offices and other public and private institutions. I am committed to building safer, more resilient communities through innovation, inclusive leadership, and collaboration.
