Engr. Faiza Yaqub serves as Director, Energy Management System (EMS), Independent System and Market Operator (ISMO), Pakistan. She is a power systems and energy sector professional with over 22 years of experience in transmission system operations, SCADA/EMS technologies, HVDC systems, grid modernization, and power sector reforms. In her current role, she leads the development, implementation, and optimization of advanced Energy Management Systems (EMS), Generation Management Systems (GMS), Operator Training Simulators (OTS), Dynamic Security Assessment (DSA) tools, and Wide Area Monitoring Systems (WAMS) to support secure, reliable, and efficient operation of Pakistan’s power system. She has played a key role in several strategic national initiatives, including the successful commissioning of Pakistan’s ±660 kV, 4000 MW Matiari–Lahore HVDC Transmission System and the modernization of the National Control Centre’s SCADA/EMS infrastructure Engr.
