Amrita began her career as a lecturer in an engineering college in Madhya Pradesh, teaching for nearly a year before pursuing her M.Tech, during which she was selected by the Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited in 2012. She is presently working as an Assistant Engineer at Shree Singaji Thermal Power Plant (SSTPP), Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh — a coal-based thermal power plant with subcritical and supercritical units (2x600 MW + 2x660 MW). In this role, she looks after the maintenance and planning of these units, along with monitoring and improving the efficiency of the subcritical units at SSTPP.
